My Christmas~

My Christmas day started off like any other christmas day I've had since i was young. First we went and visited my grandmother and cousins from Batangas. We probably got there before lunch. Anyways, some of my cousins weren't there( they were celebrating in their other province ) so my grandmothers house was pretty quiet and orderly. (hehe) But even if it wasn't really that cheerful this time, we still tried to make it very meaningful. We had simbang gabi at the church somewhere near the plaza and it was really crowded. Thankfully we still got a very nice spot inside the church. Atleast we had our probably first simbang gabi in Batangas.
After the mass our family with my cousin Kuya Jay went back home. I was really sleepy so after we ate at our cousins house nearby, i immediately went to bed.
The next day I woke up. It was the day when we get money and gifts from our ninongs and ninangs. Unfortunately we got less than last year. But we did have fun roaming around and visiting people who I didn't even know i was related to. After lunch, we had to leave. We still had a party at my other cousins house, mothers side. We said our goodbyes to our cousins and relatives in Batangas.

It was night time when we arrived at our grandmothers house from Alaminos. All our cousins and uncles and aunts were already waiting for us. We were going to have a Christmas party with our other relatives at their house. Because of us, we got a bit late. (hehe) When we got there ,finally, we immediately headed out for our relatives house. Thankfully they were still there.
We had a blast playing around. My brother with Miguel, Gabriel, Astian, Seal and Joaquin(my cousins) were playing with fireworks. It was scary at first but after getting used to the sound, it was like nothing now.
After dinner, we had our exchange gift. I got a pink t-shirt. Even if i do want green rather than pink, it's the thought that does count right?
Soon, everyone got tired and we went back to our grandmothers house. The fun didn't stop yet though, we still played random games at inays house. But of course we got sleepy also. So we slept. The end of a very tiring day.

About who? About Me.

One afternoon on the 29th of September 1996. A baby girl was born, named Kleo Rafaelle M. Hernandez. And that is me. I have two siblings namely Karlo Hernandez ang my younger sister Katreen Hernandez. And now we live in this small subdivision named Golden City in Sta. Rosa Laguna. It's not that big of a subdivision but not that small too. Currently I have a lot of people whom I know in this place. And I'm not planning to move somewhere else.

Let's talk about my interests now. Currently I am into music and instruments. I am studying how to play the violin and am in the process of becoming a good violinist. If you ask me other instruments I could play, I would say the Piano. Well I learned the Piano by self study. My parents told me "One instruments at a time" so I had to decide between the two. There we go, I am now a good violinist.
When it comes to music, I really pick those that fit my mood. Unlike other girls, I don't like romantic music, I am into those that have nice tunes and a good meaning behind the song. Recentle K-pop is the music that I am craving to listen to. Dont ask me why. I can't understand it myself but the beat enough is good for me.

My life isn't always a smooth bump in the road. Of course I had my fair shares of problems that would bring even the strongest person to its knees. But that is the main reason of living right? To encounter problems and learn from them. Now here I am alive and well. Forever in this world of Music of mine.

S S Five Zero One? Or Double S Five o One

Well, this topic that I specifically wrote is about the K-pop group SS501(pronounced Double S Five oh One) . It is a group consisting of five members. And debuted last 2006-2007 with their title song Warning.You might be wondering why they are called SS501. I was too. But after some searches I found out it meant "Super Star 501" and their 501 means "Five United As One". Up to now they are still together and performing on stage and they have captured the hearts of millions of female and male all over the world

Let us start with the introductions:
Kim Hyun Joong a.k.a Leader
He is the leader of SS501 and the eldest out of the five members. He was born on July 6 1986 in Seoul, Korea. He is actually known as the "4D Leader" because of his weird behavior.
You may know him as Yoon Ji Hoo in Boys Over Flowers(the drama that was aired in ABS-CBN). That was when I knew him too. Actually my first impression on him was good. I did not see anything wrong about him and thought he was okay. Because he was a good actor and a good singer as well. Furthermore, he is also a very good leader and older brother to the other members.


Heo Young Saeng a.k.a Shy Prince
His position in the group is main vocals mainly because of his powerful yet gentle voice that can reach any pitch of high note. He was born on November 3 1986 just like leader. Thus making him the second oldest on the group. He is known as Shy prince because he is always shy in front of cameras, badboy because of the new concept of the group and otter for some reason I still don't know.
After learning about SS501. Young Saeng was the second person who caught my attention. Because of his voice. And his adorable childish face.

Kim Kyu Jong a.k.a Center
Kyu Jong is known as the "center" of SS501 because he is literally in the center when you arrange them by ages. He was born in February 24 1987. A year younger than the other two. He is very fun loving and loves to be with the other members. And he is also a good singer and rapper.
KyuJong was the last person I knew from the group. Because somehow even if he did stand out I did not pay any attention to him. But after watching and listening to more songs of theirs, you will get attracted by his powerful voice and amazing dance moves. Yes he might be funny and comedic, but he can be cool and tough as well.

Park Jung Min a.k.a Sexy Charisma
Like how his alias says, he is called as Sexy Charisma mainly because he is full of charisma on and off stage. He is born on April 3 1987. And is the Low vocalist in the group. His deep and warm voice can make any girl sigh. It is very attracting even through my point of view.
JungMin was one who I did not really notice. Because he looked like one of the members. But like Kyujong, after watching more videos. You would get to know him better and you would appreciate more his deep and romantic voice.

Kim Hyung Jun a.k.a Baby or Maknae
Kim Hyung Jun is the youngest member in the group. He was born on August 3 1986. And is a very talented person. He was the first to ever enter the group. He can play the piano, his voice is extraordinary and he can compose his own songs(along with his brother Kim Kibum from U-kiss) and they call themselves as HnB. They have composed many songs for the group already and are planning to do more. Even though he is called Baby and he might act a bit childish. On stage, you can see how much he puts effort into it. Not wanting to put the groups name into shame.
Hyung Jun was the one member who really caught my full attention even till now. I am really amazed on how he can sing low pitched songs and sing high pitched songs as well. His vocal range is really wide and I idolize him for that. Plus he has a cute appearance and his somehow baby acts can make a girl fall for him at one.


Reaction Time!!
Lets see. Overall reaction? Very good. They never fail to amuse me and fellow k-pop fans or music fans. They always surprise us with either new hit making songs. Really they are one of the best groups of the 2007-2010 era. Starting from Never Again down to Love Ya, those five young, or shall I say grown men have never failed to capture the hearts of their male and female fans all over the world. On stage they are the tough looking professional SS501 but offstage they are the fun loving, always playing around, group of young men SS501. Dual personality? I don't think so.

Forever in the hearts of their fans. SS501: Kim Hyun Joong, Heo Young Saeng, Kim Kyu Jong, Park Jung min and Kim Hyung Jun.

The most interesting music that I've heard so far...K-pop

The Kpop craze just started this year. Last year Kpop was not that renouned(for me) I usually listened to english pop songs or rock songs. The headbanging stuff. But when I stepped in 6th grade it changed. There was a song that was aired in myx which became famous in Philippines. It was “Nobody by WonderGirls” because of that i did get a bit into Kpop. But not that much. Then while watching Myx Daily Top Ten, I saw Fire by 2ne1. I recognized Sandara Park in the group and emediately downloaded the song. There it started. But I was still not that addicted to the group.

Then while watching MYX (again) they suddenly played Lollipop by Bigbang and 2ne1. I found the tune very very catchy. I was very addicted to Big Bang. I thought that no one or nothing else would come apart between me and the group.

Then of course came Highschool. After months in it I found new friends, Erika, June, Natalia, and a lot more. Then when we started getting comfortable with each other, we started talking about Kpop. Atleast i could relate a bit because I was still obsessed with Big Bang that time. But a lot of groups they mentioned were very unfamiliar. but I tried to know them so i could talk to the both of them. They were the ones who introduced me to “Super Junior” and Girls Generation or SNSD I was very amazed when they mentioned ALL the members of SJ. I mean I couldnt even remember who Kibum was. (my friends bias at that time)

One day, something played in Myx Music Channel. Quickly I looked up from the computer and saw “Lee Hong Ki” of F.T ISLAND. I downloaded the song and started knowing the band more. While on the process of knowing the band I started familiarizing myself with other groups as well. I knew that there were a lot of handsome members from super junior (by a lot i mean ALL) and a lot of Kpop groups. Bit by bit i could relate to June and Erika.

One day I heard June and Erika talking about a channel called “Arirang” I asked them if it was english subbed because they told me it was a Korean Channel. They replied to me saying it was english DUBBED. I got excited when I got home and looked for it. There it was. Channel 53 Arirang. but when I watched it I didnt really like it yet because the show that was airing was “let’s speak korean” and I didnt really find it fun like how June and Erika said.

The next day they told me to tune into Pops in Seoul, then followed. I watched the whole show and found the three MC’s cute but not that it left me dazed. I was only excited because their topic was Big Bang.

I started asking them about the three MC’s and what group they were from. They told me it was U-KISS. Of course i checked it out and found the group really nice. The songs were very catchy and the member Kevin was really attractive. but not that much for me.

That time the show that was famous in our house was “Boys Over Flowers” and I really liked Yoon Ji Hoo. I researched about him and found out he was from the group SS501. I heard about the group from my classmate Carl and listened to some songs in his phone. I even remembered him teasing me when I stare at the mv of ss501 he was watching and kept teasing me when Hyun joong was the one singing but really I was not that interested in him that time.

My cousin was in love with Yoon Ji Hoo as well. And one day while watching Arirang I saw a familiar face. It was Yoon Ji Hoo! With a different hairstyle! It was black and was not like his hairstyle in BOF. I really wanted to show it to my cousin so i searched it in the net. Unconciously while looking and checking every vid I fell in love with the group. Then finally i found it, Love Like this . She was as schocked as I was. But I wasn’t shocked anymore after watching it countless times. i fell in love with them after that. really I thought there were only 4 members. because jungmin and Hyung Jun looked and dressed alike. Then I counted them, they were 5. I was really confused. Then as I got to learn about the group more, I could differentiate them using their voices and laughs.

I fell in love with the maknae Kim Hyung Jun and grew obsessed with him immidiately, faster than the other two before. I started searching facts and pictures of him then I found out his brother was from U-KISS . I remembered the group and searched it again. At first i was very confused on who KiBum was. But after searching I could differentiate him already. Quickly I forgot(a bit) about SS501 for a while and searched for their songs. I really loved Bingeul Bingeul and Man Man Ha Ni. because of that I got addicted to the group. I started watching “Pops in Seoul” more and I had a crush on Kevin, i quickly forgot about Hyung Jun.

But then I watched Love Like This again and watched some shows of SS501. THERE IT HAPPENED! I BECAME A TRIPLE S! Everything about them makes me so happy, seeing the color green, hearing their songs, seeing a poster of BOF.

Then finally I memorized the names of all the members of Super Junior (amazingly even their voices)

But still SS501 remained in my heart.

Then after watching the U-KISS concert. My heart was divided into two. One side for SS501 and one side for U-kiss. Then it suddenly collided and I became a Triple Kiss

My Personal Reaction to Kpop:
I admit, I can't understand a single thing they are saying since the Korean language is unknown to me till now. But its the tune of their songs and how catchy it can be are the ones that truly reels a person in to the K-pop world. Truly I can't decline how much it is very addicting. The dance steps, the song, the rhythm and everything about it.

At least that's what I think. Its up to you if you want to be hypnotized by this wondrous world of K-pop.
